HOW G.Y.M. WELLNESS BEGAN

God, You, and Me emerged from my personal weight journey, navigating through fluctuating dress sizes. Amidst various weight loss programs, I realized that my success merely served as a superficial solution to a deeper issue- my unhealthy relationship with food. While not a disorder, I recognized that I lacked control, turning to food for comfort in boredom, happiness, or anxiety: it became a constant focus in my life. As a result, I opened up a wellness center for people like me.

ABOUT COACH C.

Honestly, I have struggled with weight maintenance since I turned thirty and have managed to keep down the weight with yoyo diets. Now that I am rocking the 50s (body changing), and I am watching my loved ones struggle with aging, I decided that I will not allow aging to “break my soul” as Beyoncé puts it, nor my family. To encourage health and wellness, I met with my family during our Thanksgiving gathering and encouraged a commitment to exercise. We are now in our 2nd year. I spent the first year getting credentialed as a Zumba Instructor, Personal Trainer, Senior Fitness and Nutritional Coach. I also got certified as a Life Coach, something that I have done all my life, and decided to make a living doing what comes naturally to me. Whoever said that I couldn’t reinvent myself at this age, lied!

Having spent over 20 years as a Special Education Teacher and Trainer, I have always prided myself on assisting both children and adult students by adopting lessons to access the desired educational outcomes, and I am excited to bring that skill set to the fitness world. I love to dance and believe exercise should be fun. As a Fitness and Nutritional Coach, I strive to enhance the quality of life for my clients by sharing my expertise through exercise and positive energy. I believe that God, people, life with purpose, laughter, and learning equals fulfillment.

Our mission is to extend the love of God to others by guiding and counseling a healthy soul, mind, and body through the God, You, and Me approach. This approach emphasizes accountability to God, oneself, and others. We encourage, measure, and celebrate success at every growth level, be it small or significant, through fitness workshops, prayer sessions, book studies, and physical fitness activities.
